Hello,

I just configured our IBM tape backup library and I am seeing it on device manager of our backup server; would anyone help me the status how i can bring the data from external disk (our backup is going to external disk now) to tape library, please?

Also I need to know how to back up from SAN drives to tape as well and two virtual systems (hyper v windows 2008 r2)

Your help would be greately appreciated.

Thank You

You must create Duplicate backup job targetting to tape for this.

Create a new duplicate backup job - select the backup sets/jobs you want to duplicate - configure it to target to the tape device - run the job.

Would you please let me know how to configure SAN drives?

Thank you very much....

You'd do the following:

1. Zone your tape drives to the media server which needs to be connected to the SAN too.

2. Rescan for new Hardware within Windows, and then restart the BE services. This will pop the drives into BE.

3. Install the Symantec drivers for the drives using tapeinst.exe.

Thanks!
