Are you using Oracle 11g R2?  It is not supported on the Linux platform.  See the SCL below

BE 2010|2010 R2|2010 R3 Software (SCL)

Hi Thanks for your reply

We are using Release 11.1.0.7.0 of 11g but no R2

Is this supported by Symantec BackupExec 2010 R2?

Thanks

Your Oracle is 11g R1 so it is supported, but unfortunately, your Oracle Linux is 5.4 and this is not supported.  BE 2010 only support up till Oracle Linux 5.1

you should add an empty NO.RESTRICTION file in the following path "/usr/openv/netbackup/db/altnames/NO.RESTRICTION", but, if you want to allow only one client to perform redirected restore, create "Client_Name" folder under the following path "/usr/openv/netbackup/db/altnames/Client_Name) then place the empty NO.RESTRICTION in it.

What has Netbackup go to to with this discussion?  This is a BE forum and not the NBU forum.
