How to view data on media

I just got hired as a tape backup technician.  How do I view data on a specifitc tape media, using Veritas  ver 9.1  or Veritas v 10?

Clicking on restore tab and selecting view by media will give you the ability to see what is being backed up on the media or what has been backedup.

If you want to see what tape is in the drive, run an inventory job.
If you want to see the contents of the tape in the drive, run a catalog job. Once the catalog job is done, then right click the tape and select restore. that will let you browse the contents of that tape. If you don't want to actually restore anything, then click cancel.
