Hyper-V image restore failure

Hello

My Hyper-V agent image restores are failing with the following error:

Restore- VRTSRV::\\VMH-2.tornadowire.local\Hyper-V?Virtual?Machine\TESTSRVR-1 V-79-57344-65233 - Writer Name: Microsoft Hyper-V, Writer ID: {66841CD4-6DED-4F4B-8F17-FD23F8DDC3DE}, Last error: 0x800423f4, State: 0001.

V-79-57344-65233 - A failure occurred querying the Writer status.

There server however appears to have restored successfully and I can boot it up again without a problem. However the error does not inspire confidence that the restore is totally successful.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Kind Regards

Simon

The servers affected are Windows Server 2008 R2, using Backup Exec 2010 R3.

The VSS Admin list command shows no errors on both servers.

refer the steps below from the following documenrt

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH126412

Manually install VSS on the VM per the following steps:

1. In the VMware Tools installer, select Modify > Drivers > VSS.
2. Complete the installation process.
3. Restart the virtual machine to make sure VSS components are installed and running.

Hi

This is a Hyper-V environment, not VMware.
