IDR DR file creation

Hello,

I read that to get a DR file you have to backup everything on a server. I still get a DR file created/updated when I unselect a few folders. I would like to know for sure if I do need to backup everything on a server to get a DR. A few of our servers has files that we give access to all users to have, but none of the data is of any importance as they can all be downloaded again from the web or from CD's. They are there just for easy access.
