IP Ports: Something has changed from 9.1->10.0, and it's not documented !!

One of the systems that I backup goes through a firewall. In order to get through it, I have the following ports open:

TCP 10000 Inbound
TCP 10051-10075 Inbound
TCP 10000 Outbound
TCP 10001-10050 Outbound

This has always worked perfectly in BE v9.1. Then I upgraded from BE 9.1->10.0.5520 w/SP1.
Now when I try to backup through the firewall, the job fails with:
"0xe000fe30 - A communications failure has occurred."

When I completely open the firewall, the backup succeeds.

I've verified in BE 10.0 that the port config matches the above. I believe BE 10 is using some additional port and it's not documented anywhere that I can find it.

Does anyone have any information about this?

Hi,

When setting up TCP dynamic port ranges, VERITAS recommends using a range of 50 allocated ports for the media server and 25 allocated ports for the remote systems for backups across a firewall.

hope this helps.
