Include / Exclude BUEX 2012

We have 20+ windows 2008 r2 servers with virtuozzo filesystem and we're using offhost backup option.

Bbecause of symlink style folders the include exculde list is important and was fairly easy to setup in the previous version, however it doens't seem to work now.

Here is an example

\vz\conf\*.*        - works fine

\vz\private\<ctid>\.vza

\vz\private\<ctid>\root\ --- symlink

\vz\private\<ctid>\updates\

\vz\private\<ctid>\names.txt

\vz\private\<ctid>\root.efd

where ctid is a unique container number

now my job contains this selection list

Include

\vz\conf\*.*

\vz\private\*\*.*

Exclude

\vz\private\*\root\*.*

To my mind this should backup everything in \vz\conf\ and everything in \vz\private with the exception of the root folders - BUT it doesn't backup the root.efd files ->  \vz\private\<ctid>\root.efd

it does back them up if i rename a <ctid> folder from \vz\private\10894\ to \vz\private\10894.test\

Any ideas why?

Please check if there is any global exclusion created (for \vz\private\<ctid>\root.efd ) due to which root.efd is getting excluded.

To check global exclusions:

- Click the Backup Exec button, select Configuration and Settings, and then select Job Defaults.
- Select Exclude Selections.
