Installing backup exec 10d

2 errors: -

When I try to run the browser I get "error 193 loading cd browser plugin E:\bin\browserops.dll, %1 is not a valid win32 application"

So I browsed the cd and ran setup.exe from the install folder. I follow the steps, choosing to create a local backupexec MSDE 2000 instance. But when the installation begins, it gets as far as "Installing Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (BKUPEXEC) Please wait.

Well I wait and wait and wait and eventually the installation fails. The installation logs don't reveal anything obvious. I have restarted the installation a couple of times and got the same thing. Have also tried installing in safe mode but still get same error.

Windows Server 2003 (R2), Xeon processor

Hello,

Is it a 32 bit platform or a 64 bit platform? Refer to the SCL to check if the OS is compatible with backup exec 10d:

What is the exact error in the bkupinst log or in the MSDE_BKUPEXEC log? These can be found in the Windows folder. Do you get any errors in the Windows event logs?
