License usage while performing backup

Siri__Paulsen
Not applicable
Referring to this document: http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/241675.htm; When performing Exchange backups, the connection with the Exchange server is not being released.

I am experiencing the same problem with Backup Exec 10.0, and SBS 2003.
Message that appeared in the event viewer: License usage for a product licensed in per server mode is nearing the maximum number of licenses purchased. Consult the Application event log or License Manager from the Administrative Tools folder for more information.

CAL's were completely gone in License Manager, and I had to add them again.

Are there any hotfixes for this problem related to BE10 and SBS 2003 as well?

Hello,

When changing alert configuration in the Backup Exec Desktop and Laptop Option (DLO) for the first time and rebooting the server, an Event ID 221 may appear in the Microsoft Windows Application log, explaining a possible license violation.

In DLO, on alerts, configuration can be changed by selecting Configure Alerts

After the configuration change, a warning may appear stating:

Warning: License Usage for product licensed in per server mode is nearing the maximum number of licenses purchased. Consult the Application event log or License Manager from the administrative tools folder for more information.

Upon checking the Windows Event Viewer, an Event 221 appears explaining:

License usage for product IIS 5.0 is nearing the maximum number of per server licenses purchased. Consult License manager from the administrative tools folder for more information.

This Event ID may subsequently be recorded after a system reboot. This issue is cosmetic in nature and does not appear to have any effect on backup or restore operations.
