Linux/Unix not showing up to backup

I have followed the online support to add the free agent to the RH 9 box and added that box to the W2K server's host file but it will still not show up in Exec 10.0. Is there something that I am missing here. I have closed the program out and opened back up with no luck. I can ping that machine fine, we checked the setup on the linux box and all looks correct. We were able to access the agent.log and this is what we get.

/etc/bkupexec/agent.be: Using configuration file: /etc/bkupexec/agent.cfg

/etc/bkupexec/agent.be: Agent configuration OK.

/etc/bkupexec/agent.be: Workstation Name: "BOSS"

/etc/bkupexec/agent.be: Backup Exec Agent ready to service requests.

merged_addr() gethostbyname(boss) failed!!

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Please refer to the following technote which addresses the same issue that you are facing:

The error message 'merged_addr( ) gethostbyname failed!' is displayed on the UNIX computer when attempting to start the Backup Exec UNIX agent.

This did work... thank you for your time. It should be noted in the help file that you must add the local machine information to the host file.
