Lotus Domino in DMZ

Hello,

I've strange problem

in DMZ I've 3 servers with Lotus Domino 8.5.2

two of them - backup has no problem

on third - biggest, most important - by the Murphy's law - when I click to select Domino databases

to select it for backup

very fast income error message - Querry failed

error is going so fast - i don't believe that agent for Lotus Domino is even trying to talk to those server

Agent on destination server is working well - all other files on normal HDD drives is backed up with no errors

what's maybe wrong with this one (other servers in DMZ with Domino - fg: BES or Sametime works perfect - each of them has Windows 2008 R2 with all patches on board )

Any idea ????

open the port number 10000 for RAWS communication

See if this helps

1> Make sure you have Installed Remote Agent on the Lotus Machine, enable the publishing.

2> Add a proper new Logon Account {Network-> Logon Accounts => "Local Admin Account on the Lotus Server"}.

3> Open TCP Ports 10000 to 10020 and 6101.

4> Enable Remote Agent TCP dynamic port range: 10000 - 10020. {Refer: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH43579}



5> Find the Lotus Server in selection list, either under the Windows Servers

OR

In the "User Defined selection", Name Field, after the \\, type the name or IP Address of the remote system, click Add, then Close.



6> Try to select the server and take a backup.

Hello,

I've changed in registry - first time trying to backup after changes - time to get error get longer

but still the same

Logon Account works fine - I can backup any file, system state or ony thing else from that server

besides of Lotus Domino database - I can pick, backup, restore anything

I've in DMZ three servers with Domino

other two works fine - even with Lotus Domino databases

whats wrong ??

every agent on servers looks perfect - reports no problem :(

only one thing is different - In Domino I have teher Lotus Traveller

maybe this one generating problems ??

What version of BE are you using?  Only BE 2010 R2 (not the plain BE 2010) can support Domino 8.5.2.

Does the BEWS account has read write permission on the lotus directory

We have checked - there is all permissions ON for user for that all disc data

right now - clue - there is no belnapi.exe in memory

and those program have no heart to run (from command line) at all

??

Ok - right now - belnapi (2x) is loaded in memory ..

Does not sound right.  There is a couple of things I would try if I were you

1) Push out the remote agent to the Domino server again and re-start the server.

2) If the error still occur, restart the Domino service and try your backup.

I had a similiar problem with BE 12.5, but it was fixed in one of the SP's.

I've removed BE agent from destination server

reinstalled - still nothing

I've removed all BE server from media server

downloaded again 2010 R2 from Symantec

reinstalled

still the same :(

on this two servers only - are error -

in other servers (does no matter - inside AD or outside DMZ) - Lotus Agent works perfect - databases is selectable with no problem

so if problem/error persist on TYTAN (media server) and PRASA (Domino server) only

problem belongs to the PRASA only ??

Hello ,

right now I'm doing backup this way

1. Shadow Copy - at the end of day

2. through VBS scripts - vssadmin - to know egzaklty number of ShadowCopy

     by mklink /d make directory symbolic link

from this point - all NSF's are accesible on other drive letter

works

but what about BackupExec ?? why only this server wont work normal??

Maybe I must gather and put here more info??log??

I've even try this

on Xen server - define new VM - on this TEST VM install new version of Windows

after apply all patch to Server 2008 R2 - install BE 2010 R2

still the same :(

I have a server running Traveler in a DMZ and it is causing lsass.exe to us port 10000
