Lotus backup fails with 0x1 - Incorrect function error

Hi all,

I have a Domino server version 7.0.23.8351 with Backup Exec 12 SP3 installed in it. When backing up the Lotus databases using the agent, after 10 minutes aprox the job fails with the following error:

Final error : 0x1 - Incorrect function error
Unexpected end of backup set encountered on Compaq 3.
V-79-57344-34004.

Domino version is supported in the SCL.

Any ideas, suggestions?

Is AOFO turned on for the job? Does the job crash out while backing up the Domino DB's or is it just during normal file backup?

Hi, AOFO is not enabled. This job only backup Domino DB´s.

make the following registry change HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\backupexec for windows\VERITAS\Backup Exec\Engine\Domino
- disable the Notes Database Filtering by changing It to 0 and Enable change Journal to 0
make this change on the lotus server and also on the media server
restarted the backup exec servcies on media server and remote server
that should take care of the issue

Hi,

I have already put those keys to zero. Also deleted UCJ files. It works one time and the next jobs fails.

Once the job fails it is restarted and finishes, but it completion status is failed.

check the agent on the server. many times remote agents on Domino servers stop. it is recommended to restart the agent just before you run the job (like a schedule task on the server 5 minutes before the backup start)
