MOSS 2007 - BE 12.5 - A Few Site Collection Backups starting to fail - End of data set was unexpectedly encountered.

Hi guys,

we have BE 12.5 SP3 including all hotfixes in place.
We´re struggling with the MOSS Backup of several Site Collections (3) from 35....

This is realy a wired thing - since the remaining 32 work well.

The failures on the 3 failing are:
Directory <Unknown> was not found, or could not be accessed.
None of the files or subdirectories contained within will be backed up.
Directory was not found, or could not be accessed.
None of the files or subdirectories contained within will be backed up.
Unexpected end of backup set encountered on MOSS_Farm
V-79-57344-34004 - End of data set was unexpectedly encountered.
V-79-57344-34009 - An error was encountered creating on-disk catalog. If this is an incremental backup, cataloging of the generated media may not work correctly.

These are all policy based jobs - B2D2T and the failure occoures at the B2D Job.
But now comes the UPGLY part - i can see the WSS_Content Databases on my B2D Device - even there is the above failure displayed!

From my point of view, this can´t be a access rights problem - since the other 32 Site Collections work smoothly.

Does anyone have a idea or suggestion to get rid of this behavior?

THX
Markus

You must have administrator privileges to run the Remote Agent Utility.
To configure the Oracle Agent on Windows computers
On the computer on which the Remote Agent is installed, on the taskbar, click Start > All Programs > Symantec Backup Exec for Windows Servers > Backup Exec Remote Agent Utility.
Click the Database Access tab ->Enable media server authentication for Oracle and DB2 operations to enter the credentials that the media server will use for all operations on the Oracle server, including DBA-initiated operations. The media server also uses these credentials for authentication of the Oracle server.
To configure database access on the media server for Oracle operations
1. On the media server, on Tools menu, click Options.
2. On the properties pane, under Job Defaults, click Oracle.
3. Click the Modify list button.
On the Authentication Credentials for Oracle and DB2 Servers dialog box, you can add, edit, or delete a server name and a logon account.
4. Click New.
5. Enter the name of the Oracle server on which the instance is installedWhen you use the Remote Agent Utility, the user account with which you are logged on should be a member of the Oracle DBA group.

Please ignore the ABOVE comment, it was done in mistake.

This error message "Directory <Unknown> was not found, or could not be accessed.
None of the files or subdirectories contained within will be backed up.
Directory was not found, or could not be accessed." comes when you are trying to backup something that doesn't exist. Please check the selection list again. Also push install the raws and update it and try the backup again.
