MOSS 2007 & WSS 3.0 - Restore while maintaining security & ownership information?

Hi All,

A client of ours would like to know if the newly implemented support for MOSS 2007 & WSS 3.0 in Backup Exec 11D is able to perform restores of sites, documents and lists while still maintaining user ownership and security information of the data.

He would like to know the outcomes of security information when restoring over the same site and also when restoring items to a new location (within the same domain as obviously restoring to another domain cannot expect to maintain the security information - correct me if I am wrong here).

Please let me know your thoughts on this particular question.

Can anyone help here?  Basically anyone that has performed a SharePoint 2007 granular restore, does the security information also get restored or is the item restored with new ownership (e.g. Administrator or something)?
