My Backup Exec is running on Microsoft SQL 2005.
I intend to update the DBMS with the Microsoft SQL 2005 latest service pack.
What are the things I need to take note or do before I run the service pack setup?
Btw, I am using Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R2

Hi,
Check the BE 2010 R2 SCL below and make sure that it is supported. If not, there is the chance it's going to mess things up.

Thanks!

Yes it is in the SCL. Do I need to stop backup exec before installation or proceed with installation as per normal?

Stop the SQL service and then proceed with the installation.
Once you stop SQL service all the BE service will be stopped.
So make sure none of the backups are running during upgrade.
