We are in a bind. We run a three Mac servers in what is otherwise a windows/unix environment. Central IT has been backing up the data from our Macs using BE for Windows Servers version 10d. The main backup system does not support the Macs.
We need to upgrade our Macs which will mean a change to Intel machines which won't run our current agents and the new version 12.5 agents are not compatible with BE 10d.
Our local supplier has contacted Symantec on our behalf to enquire whethewr we can pay for 12.5 and receive 10.1 version. The anwer was no. I have not been able to purchase any 10.1 license keys from other sources.
Given that we are a very low priority for central IT, we need a solution until the administrative wheels turn far enough for the backup system to be upgraded.
Any suggestions?
