Media Sets are changing tapes.

Hello,

I'm running BE 9.0 on Windows 2000 Server, and I have 4 media sets (one for each job) and in it are the tapes that correspond to that job. Every now-and-then the tapes will change media sets, which backups the wrong job to the wrong tape. Does anyone know why this happens and how I can fix it so that it doesn't do that again?

Check the global media management options. Do you have "Use Overwriteable Media in Target Media Set before Scratch media" selected?

if you have an autoloader, you can also partition the loader, then altering your jobs to point to the associated partition rather than "all pools" or the loader in general See

Where are the global media management options located? I can't seem to find anything similar to "Use overwriteable media in target media set before scratch media." Also, if I upgrade to 9.1, will all my settings and configurations be saved or will I have to set up my backup jobs again?

Yes, the upgrade should keep all you local settings
