Media is in Unrecognized format.

I Installed a trial version for Backup Exec 2012 and connected my LTO 4 tape drive it.

I could erase the tape , but could not write on it.Error is "Media is Unwritten in a Uncrecognized format"

I erased it many times but nothign works. I tried to another server but same issue.

The same tape drive works fine on 11D version.Please help ASAP..

Hi

Have you installed latest DDI hotfix after sp1a for BE 2012 & then have you tried reinstalling tape drivers for symantec using tapeinst.exe

If not please try & check

Hi,

Try a long erase of the tape itself, or even moving it through to the Scratch media set which makes it overwritable.

Otherwise try erasing the tape using your drive manufacturer's diagnostic utility.
