My media server is Windows 2003 Server with Backup Exec 9.1 installed. The Device is an DLT 8 slot 40GB autoloader Power Vault 122T. It works fine. But when I check the properties of the individual tapes in the media sets they show total capacity 16TB!! Is this a bug?
Unless it is one of the newer technologies, BackupExec really has no idea what the capacity of a given tape volume is until it has reached the End-Of-Tape marker.
The tapes will hold 40GB native, so just go ahead and use them.
