Missing dlomaintsvcu.exe warning on system state backup

Hi!

I've recently upgraded a Symantec Backup Exec 2010 to 2012. I did my best to rebuild our backup strategy, according to the new (and allow me to say annoying) server-centric approach.

Now I have a server reporting a warning  about X:\program files\symantec\backup exec\dlo\dlomaintsvcu.exe not present on the snapshot, when backing up server system state.

There's still a Backup Exec DLO Maintenance Service at the services console, set to stopped and manual (since there's no such file now).

My guess is that it was left behind when splitting SBE12 an DLO7 products, but just to be sure before removing I'd like to now if any one has run into the same issue, how to fixit and even if it could be considered a migration bug that should be reported.

Thanks in advance

Thank you for both answers but they are only workarounds.

Indeed, I can make a fake file and forget about the warning, but the thing is there are two new DLO related services:

  • Symantec DLO Administration Service
  • Symantec DLO Maintenance Service

So I don't need a Backup Exec DLO Maintenance Service anymore.

What I've finally done:

sc delete DLOMaintenanceSvc

I've run a test system state backup and the problem dissapeared :)

Thanks again anyway.

Please refer to the following technote:

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH126412 : Backups complete with the exception: "VSS snapshot warning. File [PATH] [FILENAME] is not present on the snapshot."

Thanks,

refer http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH88234

 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DLOMaintenanceSVc

Value of the "Image path" should be "X:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\DLO\dlomaintsvcu.exe"
