I previously had 2 IOMEGA 1TB NAS Home Media drives which I cycled every business day to store a backup using Backup Exec 12.5 and it was working fine until one of the drives died.
I have replaced the drive with the Cloud edition but Backup Exec is unable to perform a full backup on the new drive.
I have updated the drive's firmware to the latest 3.1.12 with no luck.
Performing a test backup on the blank drive, Backup Exec will create its folders and fail at just above 1GB and fails with error E00084F4 "The specified network name is no longer available".
Trying to run a test backup again will stay Queued for ever.
I have created the Removable Backup-to-disk Folder using the NAS drive's \\IP\share
I can manually move files from/to the drive with no issue.
Anyone have seen this?
Michel

You should be using normal B2D folders and not removable B2D folders for your NAS.
Your new NAS is not supported as a B2D device. Check the HCL below
Backup Exec 12.5 Hardware (HCL)
However, you can test its B2D functionality with the B2DTest utility

Thank you pkh,
Using normal B2D is working out so far, a scheduled backup launched itself right after I made the change so I will let it run and will try out the B2Dtest utility later.
Thanks again,
Michel
