Hi,
the following steps must be taken to back up using only TCP/IP:
1. Make sure the NetWare server names and IP addresses are in the domain name service (DNS) database for the Windows NT or Windows 2000 server. If not, they can be manually added by editing the Hosts file in the Winnt\System32\Drivers\Etc directory.
2. In Backup Exec, go to Tools | Options
3. Click on the Network tab
4. Make sure the Enable agents using TCP/IP protocol option is checked; if not, check it (Note: if it was not checked, then Backup Exec will need to be closed and reopened)
5. Click on the NetWare SMS tab
6. Click on the Add button to add NetWare servers to the list
(NOTE: First try inserting an asterisk and verify the results. If the issue still persists then follow the below steps)
7. Type in the name of the NetWare server and click OK
8. Repeat steps 6-7 for all other NetWare servers to be added
