Best method that I can think of (and what I do) is to assign your backup servers to a seperate subnet. Then give your high bandwidth machines with the 2nd nic, an IP address for this subnet bound to the 2nd nic only.
i.e. If your normal IP range 10.0.0.x then put your backup servers on 192.168.1.x and assign all 2nd nics to the same range.
A seperate switch to handle just backup traffic works wonders also. Just as an FYI, this will add a small CPU overhead but as long as you're not CPU bound on your SQL servers, you should be just fine.
