Hello,

I'm having the same problem.
Replace my scsi tape drive for a HP Storageworks DAT40 USB internal drive, windows 2000 server recognized it very well, nt backup can work with it.

Veritas Backup Exec 9.0, updated to 9.1 included the last hotfixes/patches/servicepacks, but it will not recognized my tapedrive.

The driver I must use(found on the internet) is the correct one. Disable the Remove Storage Service isn't the solution as well.

So please, help me !

Hmm, I think this (Hans) is our problem :

http://ftp.support.veritas.com/pub/support/products/Backup_Exec_for_WindowsNT/282347.pdf

Only the SCSI version is on the compatibility list.

Yep.

v9 supports USB Hard Drives, but not tape drives. V10 does support USB tape drives.

Veritas has indicated no interest in adding that capability to v9

Hi there,

thansk for your replay.

Know i know only the Veritas 10.0 or a SCSI Device can help me.

Greetings
