No Idle Devices are available

I am having a problem with my server running BE 10. I have yet to get this to run correctly. When I first installed BE10, it worked fine, then started running into problems. I now have the message on my pending jobs stating "No Idle Devices are available". When I go to the media tab, it shows the tape drive in "ready" status. I have also had a problem with the Backup Exec Job Engine service bombing. Please advise.

1.)Go to Device Manager, rescan devices, and verify the tape drive is still being detected and has the Veritas Driver loaded.
2.) Cancel all pending jobs, delete the tape drive , and run the device configuration wizard again (Tools-> Wizards ->Device Configuration Wizard).

3.) Delete, re-define the backup jobs.

Hi,

-- Make sure the Tape drive is detected in the Windows Device Manager.

-- Go to Devices Tab and check if the Tape Drive is not showing offline. If it is, then recycle the Backup Exec services, check if it brings the tape drive online.

-- Make sure RSM (Removable Storage) service is stopped in the services applet.

-- Inventory the drive. Move to media manually to "Scratch Media" set. Run a small backup job.

-- Does the library have barcode reader installed?
