No data backup

I use Backup Exec 2012 to backup data folder in VM server. The backup log show successful but no data backup. My system account is member of domain admin. Any idea? Thanks.

Are you taking backup of DFS data? Ignore this post if you are not taking backup of DFS data.

If yes than select the folder through Shadows Copy Components of the server.

What are the contents of this Data folde of yours?

How are you backing up the data folder from VM?

a. Using an Agent for VMWare?

or

b. Using an Agent for Windows installed on that VM (i.e. like a regular remote machine)?

if it is B, 

1. Check the completed Job log to identify if there is any bytecount?

2. You can enable detailed job logging to understand if  Backup Exec is attempting/backing up contents of the data folder.
