OFO: Snapshot error (0xa000851c): VSP SnapShot CacheFileBroker was unable

I am having this same error every night when I run a backup on one particular server.

It has two partitions to backup

C:\ 8GB - 4GB Used - 50% Free - RAID1
D:\ 300GB - 113GB Used - 63% Free - RAID5

I have run the job with all the settings left as default and have also rerun the job with the cache path set to D:\ both times it gives the same error:-

"OFO: Initialization failure on: "\\EXFILE01\C:". Advanced Open File Option used: Veritas Volume Snapshot Provider (VSP).
OFO: Snapshot error (0xa000851c): VSP SnapShot CacheFileBroker was unable to allocate cache files. Check disk space."

I have also used the registry setting "DoSingleVolumeSnap" to 1, but this seems to have no effect.
