Overwrite Protection

I have a policy for multiple computers backup. The Device and Media are same for every computer. Overwrite protection and append period is 4 Weeks. Is it possible to protect data for a user who is out of the office or has left the company from bring overwritten even if the overwrite protect period ends for the media?

Hello

 Once the OPP ends the media is all set for being overwritten so the only way to protect the data is by not using the media for backups.

Yes it is possible.


Overwrite protection period can be applied on the media itself , so if you know the specific media on which the data was written for that specific user. Create a new media set  with following properties & associate that media with the newly created media set

(OPP- infinite-Don't allow overwrite , AP-0 HRS)

Umm, No it is not

overwriteprotection  is NOT  by volume/media and never has been.  It is ONLY by media set

Your workaround obviously takes advantage of this, but is not quite what the OP is asking
