There is still no official support for Debian inside Backup Exec.
The installer runs very well, the software too, but the updates are only available for rpm distributions.
Ok, you may just copy files to the right folders and it works but ... if you have to do the same on a lot of Debian servers, it's not cool.
I've taked a look at the installation script and modified it :
- removed the rpm check
- replaced it with a simple file check of 'beremote'
like this it may work on every linux distribution.
I attach to this message both the patch file and the patched file, feel free to use it and Symantec guys, feel free too to implement it inside your updates.
