Path to upgrade Backup Exec 2014 14.1

Presently we are backing up to a Quantum Scalar i40 Tape Library with one SAS drive using LTO6 media. We upgraded to a Quantum Scalar i3 Tape Library with two SAS drives using LTO7 media. Can I purchase Veritas Backup Exec 20.1 and all will work with my new library? Or do I have to go to Backup Exec 16 first? In either case, tell me what I need to purchase and install on my server.

You can perform a direct upgrade for Backup Exec 2014 providing you have the latest service packs and hotfixes for Backup Exec 2014 before attempting the upgrade.

Without knowing full details about your current licenses you will want to review the BE 20.1 License guide.
