I have a front end exchange server located in the DMZ. What ports do I need open to allow backup of the server. There is not a mail store on this server so all I need to do is backup the operating system and exchange files.

Hello,
1. Ensure that port 10000 is open and available on the Backup Exec Media Server as well as on the remote systems.
2. Open the dynamic port ranges specified for communications between the media server and remote agents.
3. The firewall must have a static Network Address Translation (NAT) configuration for these two-way communications to work.
4. Add the host name and IP address of the remote server to the host file on the backup server and vice versa. The HOST file is located in C:\Win NT\system32\drivers \etc.
