Policies and Templates

I wonder if anyone can help.

I wish to make a policy consisting of a full backup of a mailbox store and files, and combine it with a seperate backup going to another partition in my Powervault 124T which will host a sql backup.

I dont understand the relationship of a policy/template and selection list. How can I specify in the policy/template that it shoud use the "SQL" selection list for the "SQL" job?

can you form relationships between policies?

Policy is made up of Templates. We can have multiple templates in a Policy.

Example.

You want to take full backup on Friday on DRIVE A or on any partition.
You have to create 1 template for that.
And then from Mon-Thu you want to take differential backup on DRIVE B or on any partition.
You have to create 1 template for that.
So, we have 2 templates in 1 policy.

Now, you want to backup Server A, B and C in one selection.
Create selection list 1 for that.
And, now if you associate selection list 1 with Policy 1. Then it will create 2 jobs which you can find in the job monitor TAB.

And, if you want to use same setup for selection list 2.
Then you can associate same policy with Selection list 2 and then you will find another 2 jobs scheduled.

This is how it works.
