Polling exclusion

Does Backupexec poll all servers to see if they have agents regardless of whether they feature in your job lists?
And if so is there a way to stop this? Or does it do any kind of polls/calls for service to all your servers?
Our backup server is calling a service on our IIS servers which is then causing an error - the service is a custom one from Thomson Elite called fmsserver.exe

There is no such feature as polling. What service are you talking about? Does it prodice any errors in backup exec or the event logs? Are there any indications which suggest that Backup exec is causing the error?

In BE 10.0 remote agent advertising is a feature used by means of which remote server will advertise/communicate with a media server. However thats a different feature. For details on this, refer to the technote below:
