Performance on one of our remote agent machines (BE 1170) all of a sudden has dropped off tremendously. This is a Windows Server 2003 machine with all the latest patches. It also runs SQL Server 2000. Backups that were running hundreds of MB per minute have dropped off severely. They may start out at 1/4 of the previous speed, then degenerate to less than 10% of that speed. We have other machines running SQL Server for which this doesn't happen. Doesn't seem to make any difference whether we use AOFO or not. The disk drives are defragged so that isn't a factor, either. Again, other than the latest MSft patches, nothing has changed on that machine.
