Problem with HP ML370 RAID array

Mark_Clive
Not applicable
I have backup up an old server to a USB drive with Backup Exec and that when without error. When I boot the new server (HP ML370 G5 with RAID 5 array) of the recovery CD it sees the RAID drive and the image on the USB drive fine, I select the option to restore to different hardware and of it runs again without error. When I then reboot new server I get "invalid system disc" error, any ideas peeps...........

Are you trying to restore from the usb drive. If you have backed up the data from BE and trying to restore manually then it has to be on the same hardware.

It appears that you are trying to clone your server.  This is something that the IDR process is not designed for.  See the document below

http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/320550.htm

Note the statement: Intelligent Disaster Recovery option is not supported as a PC cloning utility for the duplication of systems.

IDR is designed for the recovery of systems to similar hardware.
