Purchase Open file agent for 11D

Hi all,

I have a customer with backupexec 11d.
They have Remote Server agents, and the Exchange agent installed.

We want to also obtain the Open file option agent, however this is no longer able to be purchased as I understand things.

The Remote Server agent for 12.5 has the open file option included I believe.

So, does anyone know how I can do this? Is there a 12.5 open file agent which can be purchased seperately then downgraded, or do we have to upgrade the whole lot to 12.5?

The BE agent has all of the options in it, so there's no need to download anything new.  It's just a license key on the BE server.

In general, once Symantec has their money, they don't care what version you're running.

Below is the process to downgrade a license you purchased.  If you can't buy it, try looking around eBay. 


General process for getting license keys for previous versions:

-Just go ahead and buy the current version of whatever you need.
-Try the license key anyway - sometimes they work.  Generally it works on the current and previous version.
-If not, call Customer Care at 1-800-721-3934. Ask for a license key for a previous version.
-Document both the current and the newly downgraded license keys! You'll need the new one if/when you ever upgrade.
