Push new agents with 11d 7170

I see that release 7170 of BackupExec 11d was released.  If I install this on my media server will I need to push new RAs to all my servers or does it use the existing agents?

You don't need to update your Remote Agents, but it's better if you do push out the new version Remote Agents to benefit from the fixes in the 7170 version.

Eg, One thing fixed was RAWS had a memory leak when using 256-bit encryption

No real reason not to update, its painless unless you're using the Advanced Open File Option with your Remote Agents, which I believe requires a reboot.

There are reasons to push out 7170 remote agents.  For example, if you updated to 7170 in order to resolve software compression issues on x64, then you should push the 7170 RA, since the RA does the compression.

Mike,

I agree with Brandon.  You should always update the Remote Agent to be on the same version as the media server.

If you use AOFO, the remote servers will need a reboot.
