Quantum Superloader 3 not displaying in Backup Exec 2010 R2

RandyT
Not applicable

We purchased the Superloader 3 from Quantum and it came with Backup Exec 2010 R2 QuickStart Edition. We can not get the Media server to see the Superloader. It is installed in Windows 2003 and the drivers are installed. I can connect to the drive through the Web Utility.

Hi,

QuickStart is quite a limited version of Backup Exec.

Download the trial version of BE 2010 R3 on the link below, install it and see if you can view the autoloader in BE --> Devices.

If you can, then you'll need to get hold of licenses for this version. Install them, run LiveUpdate to get the latest patches, and push-install to any remote servers you might have.

Thanks!

For BE to detect the library, your media server operating system have to detect it.

Have you checked for robot under device manager? It should be detected as Unknown Medium Changer.
