RAWS installation

Is the RAWS needed on the backup server if I am backing files up locally?

When you install the core product the remote agent gets installed automatically.

Yes the "remote" agent is how BackupExec  does all access on the machine it is running on, incuding the media server

Guess Amol beat me to it.

As he says, the RAWS on the media server should be installed as part of the regular install.  You should NOT need to install it manually
