Determined as known issue in LSI 20320IE (HP SC11Xe) HBA controller - find the SCSI Timeout parameter in the card BIOS and change from 10 seconds to 30 seconds.
ASUS P5BV-C, LSI 20320IE, HP EH841A D22D LTO3 Ultrium 920.
Results in very low performance - 5 MB/m negotiated data rate. Observe RaidPortx error in Windows System log in Event Viewer: ID 11.

Hi,
Upgrade the drivers for your SCSI card, and then try again. Also make sure that RSM service is not started, as this causes issues with BE managing the hardware.

No offense CraigV but you are presenting solutions for different problems. The timeout parameter must be loosened in the card BIOS else it will not matter what driver version - RMS should always be disabled AFAI have read.

...no offence bud, but updating drivers is normally a standard practice when troubleshooting slow performance.

Also, Error 11 is a hardware error...get hold of HP Library & Tape Tools and run the wizards to check whether or not you have an issue...
