Ralus not excluding SAN mount

LinuxBen
Level 2
I'm using RALUS on a RHEL5.4 VM backing up to a Windows 2008 Server with Backup Exec 12.5.

Only the files are being backed up, not the VM itself. The problem is that the backups keep failing when it reaches the /DATA mount on the VM which is a mounted SAN LUN.

ralus.cfg is set to exclude the directory:
Software\Symantec\Backup Exec For Windows\Backup Exec\Engine\RALUS\SystemExclude5=/DATA/*.*

When I look through the logs I see this:

It doesn't appear as though its actually excluding the directory.

Why is it failing on this mount? Why isn't it excluding it? Is there any kind of work around for this?

Thanks.

Sorry to get your hopes up with bumping your post but I have similiar issues.

I have multiple SAN attached mount points on Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.5 (RHEL). Usually the agent dies and needs to be restarted. Usually we exclude the directories in the config file, and on the BUE server end as well.. I would recommend using "/DATA/" instead  of "/DATA/*.*" the "*.*" infers to still only exlclude files in that directory not the directory itself.

I would check "grep "beremote" /var/log/messages" for any errors like general protection or segfaults

I am still looking for a solution to these issues as well.
