Re-Installing Backup Exec v. 10.0 on another server

I am moving my tape drive to another server and need to install Backup Exec on it.  I found my disk, but the serial number isn't with it.  Is there a way I can find out what serial number it is using where it is currently installed?  If not, can someone at Symantec look up what number we registered or were issued?  Am I looking for a number on a plastic CD case, paper CD sleeve, or would it have on a sheet of paper or in an email?

Thanks,

Rick

Rick, You should have a printed document showing your serial number.  If you cannot find it in your filing cabinet you may need to call them to get your serial number.

Then you need to move it by going to the Licensing Portal at:

https://licensing.symantec.com/acctmgmt/index.jsp and then click on the "Moving an existing license to another machine? click here" in the middle of that page.

On the old server look for the BESERNUM.TXT or .XML (depending on version, I can never remember when the change was) file in the \Windows directory

This contains all the serials that you have installed on that media server
