Rebuilding Backup Server - Creating fresh build of OS to 2008 R2 and installing BE 2010... is there a way of saving the configuration settings from BE 12.5?

RedEyes
Level 2

Our current backup server is Windows Storage Server 2003 (x64) and we're running BE 12.5

We want rebuild the backup server with a fresh OS 2008 R2 and then install BE 2010. Is there a way of saving the configuration settings in BE 12.5 that can be imported into BE 2010?

Ideally we'd like to be able to keep job configuration and job history information, all catalogues etc.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You're primarily interested in the Catalogs and Data folder. These hold the catalogs you've generated during the course of your backup runs and the SQL DB that BE uses.

You'll have to stop your BE services, and then make a copy of both those directories to a secure location.

The TN below should help you with this...

Thanks!
