Reducing Backup Window and Storage Size using B2D

            In my environment we currently have 13TB of SAN Space used to backup our Exchange and Vmware Data. At present we are using Backup Exec 2012 with Shared SAN Option,Dedupe and Advance Disk Option.  Our Exchange Data is now at 1TB compressed. We are doing one Full and 4 Incrementals backups to the SAN storage per week and are required to Keep 30 Days worth of data. What options above buying more storage does Backup Exec Offer to reduce or Window and Storage Requirements

1:  Does Backup Exec have Continous Protection and What are thye Storage Requirements

2: GRT on the Windows VMs are failing with the error volumes are not snapable

3: Would incremental forever be a suitable option for our File Servers

1) No.  CPS is discontinued in BE 2012

2) Post your errors in a separate discussions so that we can take a look.

3) When you restore an incremental backup, you need to restore the last full backup and ALL the incremental backups up to the incrmenetal backup that you want, so doing incremental forever is not feasible.  You got to do fairly frequent full backups to reduce your restore time.

As to reducing your backup window, take a look at the BE Archive option.  This will allow to to archive old files and Exchange e-mails so that you don't have to back them up frequently.

 if one were to use Disk storage to host all backups this would allow say 1 full then 12 incrementals. This would reduce disk usage wouldn't

If you are converting some of your backups from full to incremental, then there would be space savings.
