Reinstalación Backup Exec 9.1

madmax00

Backup Exec Device & Media Service

Backup Exec Job Engine

Backup Exec Server

Cualquier idea o sugerencia será bien recibida.

Gracias

Hi,

BE makes an automatic backup every morning at 4AM, and the file is called bedb.bak. You will find this in the Data folder of your BE installation.

Check that any antivirus installed isn't perhaps blocking the BE services from starting, and if so, put in an exclusion for them. Then try starting the services up again.

Also make sure that the account used for the services isn't perhaps locked out in Active Directory.

Thanks!

Check that the SQL service for BKUPEXEC is started before starting all the BE services.

We're trying stopping the antivirus (also from symantec!), thanks

I think that the problem is on the SQL DB, because when I try to start the "Backup Exec Device & Media Service" it gives an "Error 1065: The especified data base doesn't exist"

I've tryied this (sorry, it's in spanish), but still the same error:

Sorry I only saw this now...can you confirm that the SQL DB actually exists in the Data folder of your installation directory?

Have you tried to repair the BEDB using beutility.exe?

Thanks!

BEDB files are located under \Program Files\Symantec (Veritas in your case)\Backup Exec\Data directory. Can you confirm if the .mdf and .ldf files are present or not.

It won't be there...look under the Backup Exec installation directory where you will find the Data folder you need to be in.

Thanks!
