redhat 5.8 restored link file size 0

Hi all! I have recently restored a few files from my backup and i have seen that  link file size is 0 and of course i had to create again all of them.

Have i misconfigured something?

My backup exec server is a physical windows 2008 r2 with bexec 2014 rev 1798, and the guest os is a virtual RedHat 5.8 (linux agent is running).

Did you choose the option to follow symbolic links for your backup job?

i can't find it in bexec 2014, whre is it?

Edit your job and click on Files and Folders on the left hand panel

when i edit the job in the left columun i have:

• Pianification
• Archive
• Network
• Notify
• Test exec
• Verify
• Advanced open file
• Security
• Linux e mac

i have fount File and foflders options only on my windows job

With BE 2012 onwards, the option to follow symbolic links for RALUS has been removed. Highly probably, this is why you have to recreate the links post restore.

so it's right that bexec 2014 no more can backup links on linux servers?!

i have only 100-150 links on our crm server. have i to call bexec customer service to recreate them one by one?!
