Remote agent does not show version number

I have a 10.1 backup server and 3 remote Windows XP SP2 desktops. All 3 desktops have the latest version of the remote agent (10.1.5629.34) installed. When doing a properties on those 3 remote systems I see that the remote agent is installed and running and the version number. However, on one of them I only see that the remote agent is installed and running, but no version number is displayed (not available). The problem on this system is that I can see the hard disks, my SQL Express 2005 server but all options are greyed out.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the remote agent on that system but without success. I can't figure out what is different and what to fix to be able to select the disks and some SQL databases for the backup.

I use the same system account on all systems without problems.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

No answer/suggestion from Symantec?

All 3 PCs are on the same subnet, none has the Windows firewall enabled. 2 show me all the disks, system state, SQL Server with all databases, but the one has a problem. Unfortunately that is the PC with the SQL databases I need to backup.

Can anybody point me in the right direction?
