Remote agent version

How can I determine if the remote agent software installed on my server is for 2010 R3?

Hi

Please go to C-program file -symantec-backupexec & look for beremote.exe & right click on it to check version

(Please note C drive is the place here were Backup exec is installed in your case it is installed on other drive you will have to go to that location)

Also when you install backupexec on server remote agent is installed by default as it is part of the S/W installation

You should be able to do a properties on the agent within favorites and it should give you the version of the remote agent. Its not there in every version, but in the latest versions, it should be. When you right click the agent in favorites, and click properties, you should see a version number. 2010 is also version 13. So, you should have a build number like 13.0.5204.x. The x may be 0 or higher if the file has any patches applied.

The remote agent version should be something like 13.0.5204.  13 is the version number for BE 2010 and 5204 is the build number for R3.  If it is a lower build number, then it is either R1 or R2.

Alternatively, you can just try to push out the remote agent.  If it is up-to-date, then the update screen will show that it is up-to-date and there is no need to push out the agent again.
