Remove VSP.SYS?

In order to troubleshoot a memory leak, Microsoft has asked that we remove the VSP.SYS driver. I still need AOFO installed though to use Microsoft's VSS to make snapshots. Should this be as simple as removing the appropriate registry keys and renaming VSP.SYS (with appropriate backups to put everything back)?

Hello,

Have you already tried uninstalling AOFO as mentioned in the following Document:
http://support.veritas.com/docs/253620 and then restarted the machine thereatfer?

Thanks!

I removed the AOFO option through removing components, and it did remove the VSP.SYS driver. Unfortunately I could no longer select any snapshot technology, including Microsoft's VSS, to use for open files. So apparently I need AOFO installed, just VSP.SYS removed.

Hello,

AOFO installs vsp.sys, a kernel level driver. This driver interacts directly with the operating system and requires a reboot after installation. Hence you cannot just remove the Vsp.sys without uninstalling Aofo...

Thank You,
