Replaced tape drive, now capacities are wrong after quick erase.

Hello,

I recently replaced a defective Dell PowerVault 110d.  Now when I do a quick erase on a tape, it shows the capacity incorrectly.   They used to show 383GB of capacity for each tape.  I quick erased 3 or 4 and they all show a capacity of 35.5 now.

I'm using backup exec for windows servers 11d.

Any thoughts as to why this could be happening?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello,

1  : Make sure that symantec Drivers are installed for the TAPE Drives.

2  : Go to the Devices TAB, right click on the Drive and disable it, right click and delete it.Same with the medium changer.
3  : Restart BE services.
4  : Make sure that the removable storage service is stopped and disabled.

hope this helps...
